Too funny Dean. I like Bertk's list, and holy smokes it sure is a challenge to "wrench-it-yourself" these days. The Harley techs may be expensive, I have have heard very few stories about issues that couldn't be diagnosed by a HD shop who has all the tools, computers, and unlimited access to the Moto helpdesk.
I had purchased all the service manuals for the Fatboy, doubt now I will spend that money again to keep up with the Street Glide.
The very few times I ever needed the shop manuals, turns out I didn't have their specialized meters, or some wiz-bang tool that needed to reach into that "special" spot.
The back yard mechanic really needs a lot of doe to keep up with special tools, meters, and computer interfaces. Those good 'ol days are gone forever.
Sorry to hear you got problems with ya scoot BDM...I got a gremlin in mine somewhere too...damn right turn signal and the alarm icon on the speedo will start flashing for no reason..does it for a couple miles and goes away..sometimes it's once a day, sometimes it's more...more aggravating than anything else...but always puts that thought in your mind...what is causing it...and will it leave my azz stranded one day? So I can relate to your reluctance to go too far with it doing that...
