Been following a thread in the general section, this event is called the Hoka Hey (Souix? A good day to die). Its a race from Key West to Homer Alaska. Talked to the wife today she gave me the okay as long as I fly the family up to Seattle to meet me when I cross the line and do a little vacation with them up in the great northwest. Will try to line up a few sponsors local dealer and do a charity for local childrens hospital etc etc, not trying to kill myself to win it but I will finish it if I have to walk the final legs. Wondering if some of our "experienced" (older/retired) crew members are up to join me. Hell young ones too if ya can get the time off for it.
The general manager of Sunrise Harley Davidson, Bill, is doing it. He is having a bike customized for the trip. He intends on winning it, and I think he just might. He used to race motorcycles professionally. If you do the ride Sunday, I'll be happy to introduce you to him.
Best of luck too, I have no doubt that, at the minimum, you will finish it.
I am in Toronto now and Houston Sunday so no riding for me this weekend. I will meet Bill before the event I am sure, keeping bike the way it is, maybe new tires before I leave.

Was looking forward to riding with you this weekend... have a safe trip at any rate.
Barbara asked me if you are doing this...on your WAY to Arizona?
I thought about the ride...for about 25 seconds. Then saw me sitting for three days waiting for a tire in Kansas.
I say you should go for it....man! What bragging rights that would earn you.
