Close cal today...
Took a ride late this afternoon, coming off rt 27 decided to take an abandoned section of 84. 2 - 90 degree S turns as I got off the highway. They are resurfacing 84 further up, but this is the staging area at night. As I went into the turn the road surface didn't look right to me. I then realized it was covered in sand about half an inch thick. It looked like a street sweeper took one pass across it as it was all evenly spread out. As I saw this I started to upright the bike (I had been leaning into the turn). Just as I did I felt both the rear, and front tires slide out from under me, took my left foot and stuck it out on the road to keep me up, which was a stupid reflex that I do on my 15 pound bicycle. Fortunately because I had already started uprighting th ebike I was able to regain control... a second later it would have been a diifferent story.... AND I w was not wearing a helmet.

hehe I think Steve needs a dirt bike. Like taking that section of 84 at max speed thanks for the heads up.
