Well I missed the first one but cHarley and I did get run off the rode by the lead rider on the fl crews Indian River ride , which I guess was the second ride. I guess our first real ride with the crew was the third ride. Was that Sebring Bike Fest or the car show at the fairgrounds in Okee?
i think i was at that one. first year it was run and dead as hell.
No TJD I thought your first Crew ride was when U had your bags on backwards. Maybe the drugs from the 70s are kicking in. I remember some guy that was older than me, on a Goldwing lead us to Porgys and then maybe we went to Heartland. Maybe the historian MJ can help me on this one. Or maybe not, as he too is a product of the 70s.
Good work on the research Mike!
So what happened to the good samaritan that was willing to fix gregs bike?
He was a good friend of Murph's. I think he had knee surgery, on both knees(?), not long after that initial ride. Not sure what ever became of him. Very down to earth kinda guy. I had just met him that day and after breakfast, he was layin down in the parking lot tracing down and fixin my oil leak! It was just some loose hose clamps on the freshly installed oil cooler. But I was totally blown away that this stranger was gettin dirty fixin my bike. Pretty much sold me on the kinda of people these FL rider's of HDF are.. and all the FL Crew has turned out to be just as down to earth... for the most part!
