Old-timer gave me a trick for yanking cam bearings:

Place cams in freezer overnight.

Take frigid cams and place in a preheated oven (350 degrees) for 20 minutes.

Literally, by gloved-hand, yank on cam bearings and they (supposedly) come right off the cam.

Me personally- yup, look around for a cam bearing puller. LOL

Poorboy, I believe that only works when you can freeze one part (cam shaft) and heat the other (bearing). One expands from heat and the other shrinks with cold. Might possibly work if the entire shaft and bearing assembly is put in freezer then apply heat just to the bearing? I'd think putting them both in the oven after taking out of freeze might cause them both to expand at same rate?

MB, you should be able to pick up a cheap bearing puller from Harbor Freight. I've got generic pullers and a small shop press if ya can't find any closer. Worked on my '99, but not totally sure if your '09 is quite the same...

I hear ya. And, I agree. Usually the only thing I put in the freezer is a bottle of Patron. Hee heee heee.

Hey Jerry, with all the help you have given me in the past give me a shout if you need help. You know that with my mechanical skills I can at least hold your beer.
