Default Run The Ga Gauntlet

I just run across this web site. I have been on some of these roads but never did a loop.

http://gauntletga.com/index.cfm?content=2&Menu=2

Here is what they offer as a map.

http://www.gauntletga.com/downloads/...ntable_map.pdf

Looks like a fun loop if you happen to be up that way.

This is my backyard. I loop one way or another in various combination depending on which way the stick is pointing. Just took Dale & Eddie up and around on most of these. Brasstown Bald park entrance has incredible switchbacks and 270 degree curves (left and right) that get you dizzy.

Very scenic up through here. Wolf Pen Gap Road (highway 180) is not for the faint of heart. Long overdue for re-surface, the current tar-snakes can bite; and with no guard rails and lots of little white crosses along the side of the road, I can't say this is relaxing. Challenging; absolutely!

Coming out of Hiawassee, but staying on 17/75 heading south will bring you right into Helen. Every time I'm there I think about what this place would be like AFTER the Florida Crew came to town. LOL

Brasstown Bald also has 25% grades to the summit.

Wolf Pen Gap is a fun road, and could be so much better if it were re-done. It needs it pretty bad. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen it in GOOD condition.

A Florida Crew trip to Helen would be awesome, but expensive!

Edit to add: 4 more weeks and I'll be back!
