Funny, I chickened out from doing it today. I was down at our local HD dealership and was ready to either get it done right then or sign up for an appointment tomorrow.

BUT because of riding all the way for the rally, I decided I wasn't messing with any sort of possible mushy brakes, or any other issue. My bike is fine, the weather is cooler (where HOT was a contributing factor for switch failure), and just plain mo-joe of not wanting anything to delay Thursday's departure.

I'll get this done when I get back. Plenty of steelerships along the way if emergency needed.

I know how you feel....I cringe at the thought of letting "the new guy" at the shop work on my bike at all.....I do my own wrenchin'.

But....Friday is the day for my swap.

Ocala HD replaced the switch on mine yesterday while I had it in to have the rear tire replaced. Haven't noticed problems with the brakes since they changed it.

You guys should be fine.... I know things get blown way-up on the forum but I trust any issue gets noticed right away. do a quick spin around the block and really test those rear brakes. Triple-check that no spilled brake fluid is running anywhere. Your wire harnesses right under that switch should be nice and dry, nothing shinny (wet) on the frame right there either.

Can't wait to see ya all!!!

Think you guys should just get it done takes minutes. I did mine myself and had them do it again under recall and test with the digital technician. I did mine because it failed, a few others in the crew had rear brake failure because of this switch.

Gorgeous looking Street Glide ya got there! You are among so many who would rather learn to do their own wrenching. And, I agree.... this is an easy maintenance recall, so I'm sure the "new guy" is doing it in the shop. LOL

FYI... my brakes are slightly spongy. Not bad but I did notice it right away. It's nothing to worry about but I will keep an eye on it. The bad part is if I do have to bleed them then I have to take it in and have the digital technician put on to reset the ABS fault. Not sure if I can can reset it myself. They told me no I can't.
I do my own work because of this. If it failes it's my own fault.
