Did you take 561 south from Astatula? That's one of my favorite roads in the whole state.
Yes, but I went in the opposite direction. I came from the South. I hadn't been on the west side of Orlando before. The whole drive through Clermont, the hills, etc. was a bit shocking. I didn't realize there were actual hillsthat close to Central Florida.
I was headed up US 27 and originally missed the turn towards Astatula. Once I'd ridden about 10 miles out of the way, I stopped and looked at the map. I realized I had to back track to SR 19, then over to 455 then to 561. It was a nice change from driving through South Orlando / Kissimmee with non-stop lights and every other person trying to run me off the road.

An idea may be to hook up some of the Crew that know the roads like JustDave or Uride2 and let them show you around. Just an idea not necessary a good one.
You just missed the best part of it, you should have taken a right where 455 hit 561 instead of a left. Next time try and pick it up on the south end off of 33 and ride it to 455. Great ride through there.
