so....without reading the whole thing.....what are the MAJOR dates? I Don't know if I will make it to Maggie Valley...defenitely not to Tennesee.....Helen GA......might be. Dragon is about two hours ride from Helen. This will be a straggle bunch if nothing else.
But since I am not riding to TX....I may have a 'window of opportunity'.
April 19th to the 26th Chuck. Tennessee is gonna be on the 20th and then back to NC for the rest of the trip from what I am reading. I hope I can make at least some of this. Been a long time since I have been home.

Would love to see you and Barbara.... I'm sure we can cross paths if you don't stop here (FL Crew Post North). In a week or so I'll firm-up a head count for spare rooms & couches. Tourglider & camel kisser (LOL....LOL) have a room reserved now for the 19th. I'm taking off Friday and heading to TN with them on the 20th. Gatlinburg is only a 4-hour ride from my house. MV is about the same distance/time away (from my place).
Check the hotel, We have a group getting 7 rooms in June. We have our rooms booked but they only have two left for our dates (June 17-21) and those are two room suites. I can't wait and I've heard nothing but good things about the hotel.

That's the nice thing about going in April. With all the kiddies still in school, there's no crowds from families on summer vacation. We went last April and pretty much had the place to ourselves. No traffic on the popular roads as well.

Nice!
We stayed at Two Wheel Inn in Robinsville when we did the trip 2 years ago but thought Maggie Valley would be an excellent "hub" for day rides so we picked A Holiday Hotel based on reviews. I CANT WAIT!!!!!!

Agreed, Maggie is more centrally located for day trip riding the best of the twisties, and Maggie being Wet is a plus. Lots of Dry counties in that area. The owners, Gabi & Rob, at the Holiday Motel were absolutely great to us when we were there last year.
BTW: The motel has big wide covered walkways in front of the rooms and parking your bike on them under cover is expected.
+1` on what everyone says about the motel. I love pulling up onto the walk under the overhang and in the morning they set out a bucket and some rags to clean off the bike a bit or at least wipe the dew off the seat! Not the ritziest place but clean, reasonable, and nice folks!
I live in Maggie, and would love to ride along with you guys on the weekend. If taking some day trips from here, there are some wonderdul rides in all directions. Please contact me anytime. I also run local napa car care and tire store should you encounter any problems during your visit.
