Try doing that crossing the Atchafalaya Basin bridge which is over 20 miles long with HEAVY STEADY TRAFFIC .. TO TRY AND PULL OVER IN BLINDING RAIN IN THAT SITUATION IS A DEATH WISH .. My replacement cell phone was $21.00 rather take that alternative anytime .. Cell phone in the tour pack won't help you much if you highside and go flying 40 feet away from the Bike all busted up .. Looking into a waterproof container to hold one in though ..

I like the Sealline products from Cascade Designs, you can find a good selection from other mfgs at Bass Pro Shop. The one on Mobile Bay or the original World Wide Sportsman in Islamorada should be sufficiently far away

If you were in the east on Sunday riding long distance, you got really wet. One of my fuses blew, killed the brake light, speedo and directionals but kept on going. Cell phone was under rain suit so never had a problem.

Heard the rains were torrential in Florida on Saturday.

I learned the hardway that the rain suit is not always enough protection, lost a droid to moisture after a long ride in the rain. Have not blown any fuses in the rain but I keep losing horns, they get water in them up under the cow bell and I've tried everything I can think of to bring them back to life but they always wind up sounding like something that came off a Honda 90. I'm on my fourth.

Yep, ended up riding through Arkansas a few weeks back in a hard rain. Just when I thought I couldn't be any wetter I learned I could and lost my horn in that mess. My buddy had his phone in his sealed rain suit. The only thing the seal did was not let the water out so the phone drowned.
