Several days ago someone pointed out to me that my taillights were out. So I rode home in the dark with my flashers on occasionally tapping my brakes for added visibility.
This morning before dawn, and in a moderate rain I headed to Harley Davidson in Miami to get it fixed. Heading down the road I go to use the flashers again, now those are out. So I start tapping the brake again to get some visibility.... Nothing there either... Turn signals, nada. Oh yeah, no horn either. My best visibility from the back was my hi via orange rain jacket, which was partially obscured by the tour pack. Just as I pull into HD my check engine light came on.
It was all caused by a short in the harness near the clutch lever.
