On my bike... Never more than 1 mixed or 1 beer and that is usually spread over an hour (or about)

I usually stop drinking an hour or 2 before driving... usually. There have been instances in my wild youth, but luckily there haven't been any issues and I'm not wanting the break that streak.

During party events, there is always a DD.

I see alot of folks posting that they never have ridden drunk that did not have bikes until the last few years. Of course your attitudes are going to be different than they were when you were a youth. The few of us that are lifetime riders on here have been through many stages of bikes and styles of riding. I see nothing wrong with being honest about the past. When I first got my license, drinking and driving was a sport. If the cops caught us they just followed us home to make sure we made it. Sometimes they would take our beer away but not always. That was back when Law enforcement was not revenue driven and they actually cared about the folks in their jurisdictions. Once the lawyers and insurance companies decided they could make big bucks off of it everything changed. Are we safer now on the roads? Probably. Is enforcement so vigorous because LEO's care about safety? No, its all about the mighty dollar these days. I am calling BS on some of these holier than though attitudes I am seeing on this post. I bet every one of you has been behind the wheel at some point with more than a snoot full. Just because you bought a bike after you were older and wiser does not make you better than a younger man that is still in that stage of life.

In my earlier reply I said that when I was younger I drove my car many times after having to much to drink. But even when I was younger and riding a bike I did not ride after drinking. This has nothing to do with being better than anyone else. Just the opposite. I was never afraid of anything I ever had to face driving an automobile. I was however afraid of my motorcycle. I loved riding to much to give it up, but I knew that I needed every edge I could get if I was to continue riding and stay alive. So I never reduced my chances by drinking. My decision, not someone else's, and I judge no one on this issue because as I said I have driven a car drunk far to many times to count. But the question posed by the OP was have you ever ridden a bike when you were drunk, and no a have not.

i've only been on the bike after beer twice and it was 2 beers the first time and one the second. i have self control, and a loving family to come home to.

i only ever drove drunk 1 time and that was when i was about 17. only had to go 2 blocks and made it safe but i was so drunk i couldnt get out of the car. every time i tried **** started spinnin. i was mad at myself for over a week. i have no time for drunks or drunk drivers.

just dont go starting a thread about driving after smoking pot or i may have to lie.

I'm too drunk to see my bike. Good thing I'm in my boxers sitting in my recliner.

When I was younger I had a crotch rocket. A few weeks after I got it I went for a ride after a few beers. Guess what, I crashed the hell out of it. A high-side crash at about 60 mph with no helmet, should of died that night. Now I have a Harley and a different attitude. I don't wanna see my beautiful new bike crumpled up in a ball on the side of the road. Hope I never get brave (stupid) enough to ride after drinks.

After a lot of experimentation, for me the ideal is two beers and a shot of Jack, or one beer and two shots of Jack. Anything more is dangerous, and this is just the right amount to enhance the ride.

I'm one of the ones that got my bike later in life. When I was young drove my car way past the point if being drunk. My best friend and I always were a team doing it. One time we crashed his van over a sidewalk in Boston. We ended up in a fight on the sidewalk and threw each other through 6 foot hedges fight in someone's yard. Boston cops came and I told them we were fighting over a girl. The cops laughed and said get going before they arrested us. Couple of miles later we hit a US mailbox and knocked it over, the big one one the sidewalk. The following week we smashed into a parked car with a guy sleeping it off himself. Another time we ran off the highway over an embankment and ripped out the under carridge of my buddies car. Cops came and we stayed in the tow truck.... Got away with it again. Another time i ran a stop sign and missed a cop car by a few feet. he followed me a couple of miles before pulling me over. did the field Sobriety test on me and i passed it, but he knew i was drunk. He told me he would let me go but was gonna follow me home, and one mistake he was arresting me. All this lead up to my friend crashing into the headstone. We are lucky to be alive, and to never have hurt or killed someone....

But believe me, regardless of how old I was, I never would have done it on a motorcycle.

Drunk? Very rarely if ever(I wouldn't doubt that I"ve done it though) but then again some of my younger days are foggy. Never was one to get drunk. Stoned? TOO many times. I no longer drink or smoke, trying to set a better example for my kids. Heck, I even go to Church, so MrJimbo I guess is just a dull guy these days. A LIVE dull guy, hmmm......something I like. I"m ok with people I ride with having a beer with lunch. I wont ride with someone whom is drunk.
