I have never been drunk on my bike and would prefer walking if I was ever stupid enough to get drunk while I had it with me.
On two occasions I had one beer, and didn't ride for over an hour after finishing it.
Not drinking has its benefits... I stopped at an outdoor bar (nice restaurant) for dinner. Bartender was about to pour my usual but I told him I was on my bike and I don't drink with it. A woman over heard me, told me she was impressed..... and we ended up dating for 6 months.right up till I met my current girlfriend.
As I stated in the other thread.... I will not ride with someone that over does it. I don't want to get killed over someone's stupidity.
I road bikes as well as drove cars plastered for years and years. Almost all of the riding I did for years was just bar-hopping. I have been very lucky that I got away with it and never hurt anyone. I quit drinking after the big accident though. Just lost the taste for it. Been over three years since I stopped.
No more than 5 while on the bike but bit is spaced out over a few hours. I never ride my baby if I've had to many or know I'm going to drink more than that.
Going to a place where you know alcohol is served and going on your bike (or car) knowing you will take that vehicle to go home, makes you a pre-meditated danger on the road. Don't do it!!
If I'm riding the bike I don't drink at all, if in the car maybe 1 or 2 with dinner.
Same here.... My girlfriend and I had never more than a bottle of wine together with dinner. We decided we wanted to get drunk together and waited until our trip to San Diego. And we got rip-roaring drunk at our hotel where nobody had to drive. We each had 10 shots of Patron plus assorted other drinks. we were so drunk we couldn't find our hotel room (on right floor number, but wrong tower) , we had to go ask the desk clerk tell us where was.
Several times when I was younger I had to much to drink and drove my car. But I have never had to much to drink and rode a bike. Not to say I do not have a beer when I am on the bike, but just the one.
