I'm thinking maybe SR50 to 19 then either 40 across or go up to 207 or 208 and cut across. I've been on 40 lots but never 207 or 208.
I tried to get us at the HJ but GF HAS to stay on the beach. Why I dunno.

Might be late to post these but here goes...
Stayed here and was able to park the bike under the front overhang. Room was close by. http://www.daysinn.com/hotels/florid...hotel-overview
We also stayed at the Hilton, underground parking, but we went off-peak and cost was cheap, prob more cost on a holiday weekend. http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/flo...DHF/index.html

Few places to eat:
Osteens, Salt Water Cowboy, Columbia, if you go up 11 in Bunnell eat at Bantam Chef, The Oasis on beachside.
Nice road is Rt 13 along st johns river off 207 in Hastings. You can pick up 16 and head right into St Augustine.
I think that is all off the top of my head. Have a fun and safe trip.

I can't tell where to stay, since all the times I've been there, I was stationed in Jax. But I can tell you about a little place right by the old school house to drink and relax. The Mill Top Tavern was one of my favorites. High enough to see all over the place and usually a little accustic band in the corner laying out old Stones, Eagles, Buffet etc... Enjoy.

I can't recall the specific one we did but it was a walking tour. Took about 1 1/2 hours and learned alot about the History.
