My Pop told us what he and Mom had put into savings over the years and it is a decent sum, surely enough for him to get that FreeWheeler, a ToyHauler RV in which to haul it and enough left over to actually haul it somewhere. We told him to spend it all...not to worry about leaving us anything, to enjoy his retirement
Exactly what we told my Dad. Not one of his kids REALLY need what he has. Enjoy the days that you have left and don't worry about any of us.

Raining again this morning. Don't know how many more times I can arrange the tools hanging on the pegboard, sweep the garage (without damaging the bike) and arrange paint cans by color.

i used to argue with one of my best friends about that. He was the TIGHTEST S.O.B. That I had ever seen. I used to tell him "spend some of your money and enjoy it! Neither of your kids need it!" (and they didn't!!!!)

Mike, ya gotta remember that many of our parents and grandparents lived through the Great Depression. I have to think that had a tremendous impact on their saving/spending habits.

Just the small stuff ya grab all the time....screwdrivers, pliers, vise grips, channel locks, etc.

The real manly stuff is in tool boxes that ya have to dig through, very efficient.

I think that he did get it honestly. Both of his parents were tighter than bark to a tree (so I hear)

Speaking of tools, and we are, Harbor Freight has a parking lot sale this weekend. Stopped by yesterday and bought two sawhorses, 350 lb capacity, for ten bucks apiece. Also bought a 3/8 drive torque wrench for 9.99. Hope it doesn't behave like a ten dollar torque wrench.

Mick, you could alphabetize the paint cans.

My Mom grew up poor on the east side of Pueblo, CO. if you ever get a chance to visit, pass it up for something else. They had an outhouse up until she was in high school in the mid 1960's.
