I'm the new guy on the block, but from what little time I have spent on here, it seems like a lot of folks get bent out of shape about what someone else is doing. I've read threads about Harley owners being "Pirates", how "Old School" bikers can't stand radios on bikes, and how other folks only ride in nice weather.
I just don't understand what all the commotion is about. As long as you're not in my space, I say, "God bless you and carry on."
You're a genius. On this forum, it's all about people telling other people what's acceptable and how to enjoy their ride. Usually, one keyboard warrior decides he's cooler than another and lays down the law. I'm a rub, but my wife doesn't mind and she still puts out most of the time when I'm in the mood.
As long as rider's gear serves a purpose I won't judge them. Some of these guys do go over the top. I never did figure out why a guy riding 25 miles around a lake on a 80 degree day needs chaps. I'm happy with a pair of jeans, long sleeve and short sleeve t-shirts, sun glasses and I'm ready to go.
Why don't you fall off one time with chaps? Then go back and fall off without chaps. The light bulb might go on then, even if it is a little dim.
Lol my boss is a pirate then. Dude rides to work (less then 4 Miles) only on hot days, with his leather chaps and when i asked, how is it an 09 with 4k miles? he said I like to keep it new. just shook my head and walked off.
