The dealership i use used to change tires for no charge if you bought them from them , but as of last year it’s $125.00 labor per wheel no matter where you buy the tire’s

That is exactly why I mount and balance my own tires.

When I picked up the tires for my XL there were riders waiting in the express lane to get their oil changed. Any way for the stealerships to steal money. The oil and filter is expensive enough without adding an hour of labor to the cost.

Love the Shinko's I've put on my bikes. Ran them on my old F4i, Victory V92c, and my Ducati ST4

Currently running the Shinko SR999 Long Haul on my Stage 2 LRS and I'm very, very happy with them so far. I have a hair over 1000 miles on them, lots of very aggressive riding through the twisty bits and they've handled it better than the Scorchers did. Paid $340 for front/rear, and paid a local indy shop $150 to install them.

Takes 20 minutes once the wheel's off. Bottle of Ride-On and you're done.

I think the reason guys like Shinko's is because they last longer but they're probably not of the same quality as a name brand tire with the same speed rating. I'm running Pirelli Angel Gt's right now and so far I like them the best out of all the different tires I've tried.

Well, it depends. They had some QC issues when they first started, but it's pretty rare to read QC complaints nowadays.

Back when they were brand new they were common just because they were the absolute cheapest motorcycle tires on the market. Then they became popular because they made super sticky tires that sport bike guys loved for drag racing. Then their "race" tires became popular for the same reason, but they didn't last as long as the more expensive track tires like Supercorsas (which cost 3-4x as much).

Now though, the Shinko 777 is super popular in the Low Rider groups because they're not only way stickier than the Metzelers and Scorchers, but they cost 1/3 of the price and they last 3/4 as long for many guys. The burnout guys also love them because they're so cheap.

Now we have the Shinko 999 that I'm running, and while I can't speak for longevity, they're certainly grippier than my Scorchers and again cost 1/3-1/2 as much.

For the burn out guys. The Smoke Bomb:

I had a 777 Shinko on the rear of one bike. Didn't get quite as many miles out of it as I thought I should, about 9000. I bought another one because I did like the grip it had for my riding. If the 999 had been out, I would have tried it.

Damn, we only charge $70 to mount and balance a carry in, R&R from the bike depends on how many extra doodads have to be removed to access the axle.
