Nothing wrong with leatherup seems to make sense to me. but if your looking to spend 500 to 600 dollars I would look for a Horsehide traditional jacket. but that is just my op ion and doesnt mean much!
If you ride a Harley, you MUST wear a Harley leather jacket. If you don't, your front tire may fall off. Then the wiggle-pin in the wobble-shaft will shear off and there you'd be in a hell-of-a-mess. It can all be avoided by buying an $800 Willie G. jacket....don't chance it man. Life is too short.
I think Harley Joe may be on to something here. Why risk fu*kin' up a good bike over a dang jacket? I do think the Vanson leather is the toughest and thickest I have seen in a bike jacket in the last 20-50 years, more or less, but I just don't want to take a chance on ruining what may be the last Harley I will ever own. Jus' sayin'.
lol . . if you want the best in protective leather, Vanson can't be beat. Some folks think a riding jacket is something that keeps you warm and looks good. While those are nice features, the real idea of the jacket is to protect that skin of yours should the worst case scenario unfold.
Vanson makes some very nice traditional jackets. I would also second the recommendation for Schott, although in terms of function, Schott doesn't hold a candle to Vanson.
As long as it's not bright red and has Ducati stitched across the back, you should be OK. Personally, my latest is a Red Wing. Can't wait for some NUBbie to mistake the embossed wing for Honda and ask why I'm wearing a Honda jacket on a Harley.
woz gona get a vanson when i was in nyc last year, but all the black dudes wer wearin them on the underground, i didnt want 2 look like a tube rider!! also they were $$$$$$$ even over your side ov the pond

I've had my current Schott for about 13 years now and I'm planning to replace it in about 15 years. What does a Vanson do that a Schott doesn't in terms of function?
