I like it when you're on a 2 lane twisty road, crankin a tight turn, leaning a long ways down and reaching way out to wave at the oncomming bikes. Almost like reaching out as if you were doing the high five.
Lots of times you meet beginner riders holding on for dear life when they're leaning into a corner. In those cases they don't let go of the handle bars. So it makes it more cool when you've eliminated the riff raff and you know you're actually getting waved back by someone experienced.
Used to think it was really cool when I first started ridin my little 450. But now a days I don't see the point. I still do some times. The thing I hate is hittin some corners and a big group thinks it necessary to all hang thier arms down to the side...REAL cool like! How bout you keep your hands on the bike and don't become a statistic, and force me to wear a helmet?
a couple of cents there for ya.
Waving is stupid, in my humble opinion. There's just too many bikes on the road now. Sure, when I started riding 35 years ago there was hardly any bikes on the road and I waved at all of them.
That's my logic behind it and my 2 cents.

I don't intiate waves, but will wave back if the other rider does. Unless the wife is with me. Then she does the waving.
I think it gets old sometimes especially when there are alot of bikes out. Its really funny when someone waves at a bike rally.
I say common sense and courtesy. If your too cool, sorry just trying to keep up the group that we are, motorcycle riders with a common interest. Right? Too me, it's like a salute!
