Took the new Polaris 550 sportsman to Colorado over Christmas/New Years. Pikes National forrest. Put about 150 miles on it!!!
Looked at the new 550 this winter but my 01 500 is stil going strong and the boys have a 50cc and a 90cc sportsman....would like to get the 550 due to the fact I do all my work with the 03 Ranger......Hmmmmm now ya got me thinkin again grrrrrrrrr..
From: South of Raleigh, and west of the coast, NC.
I have had several and still have my honda rancher 4 wheeler. I am still dealing with the pain of crushing my leg in a 4 wheeler accident years ago. I believe that I flipped that 4 wheeler backwards forwards and sideways all at different times. It is fun but I have learned that I don't heal up like I did when I was young.....They are fun but be cautious!Everything is fun til someone gets hurt!
My son 'n I got our first 4-wheelers this past Spring...a brand new pair of Kaw 250 Bayous. If I had known how much fun these things are, I woulda had one a looonnnngggg time ago! We have a small area close to the house where we can have some fun...but, we take 'em up to a place called Windrock just northeast of Oak Ridge, TN...160+ miles of mountainous roads and trails. It's a blast!
My boss and I both ride and actually store and work on our quads at the office. He has the Can-Am 800 (what a beautiful riding monster) and I am stuck with his old Honda 450 Foreman.

It is heads an tails better than any 'hunting' quad i've ever been on!
It is in a completely different league.. You would NOT be disappointed ..
Every Spring we have a Memorial poker run. It started out about 8 years ago with just a few friends who wanted to BS about our old friend Jorge. Last spring we had over 100 quads and dirt bikes participate and people come from over 200 miles away to join inthe festivities. Once in a while the dirt bikes are able to complete the trip (about 40 miles through dust, mud, water deep enough to drown your quad, snow, bush, swamps and mountains [REAL mountains, not those little rolling hills many people count as mountains, but big, jagged cliff studded things]). 3 of us ORIGINALS now ride shotgun to help out those who are inexperienced or just downright directionally challenged. We raise funds for the local library.
