I know what you're saying ... Can't say I don't agree. We are living in the "ME" generation. Family and moral values are somewhat less important than they used to be ... Thus the self centered image we now portray for ourselves...Generally speaking not militarily speaking

To me ... the lack of accountability is largely to blame. Our society is now so caught up in correcting mistakes we made as a society years ago, that we have now overshot the real remedy.

Just for instance:
The removal of Christianity (and the discipline that it involves) in schools to make way for freedoms of Religion resulted in no religion (which coincidentally minimalizes personal discipline).
The removal of a teacher/principal ability to punish a child for misbehaving results in no deterrent for not only disrupting other kids education, but removal of overall safety because ... let's face it .... the school bus, and the school grounds are now a particullary scary place for anyone ... not to mention a 6 yr old.

Heck, a parent can't even attempt to gain control and punish their own child without someone threatening to call children's aid and losing their child to a foster home.

TV shows, fashion or music based magazines, not to mention "inquiring minds" have been allowed to affect our way of thinking in general terms in an extremely negative way.

Individuality and accountability is becoming a rare commodity. If you think things are bad now ... just wait until this generation is in power and they are the ones taking care of our old shrivelled up butts.

would be cool if they brought the draft back but that still means i cant go

but if i had a choice either my little brother go or I go... Id most deffinitly step up and make it so i would be the one going instead of him.

People want to blame someone else for all their problems and let the government take care of them. There's no such thing as 'personal responsibility' any more.

And I think it should be manditory for the president to have served in the military.
