No, not at all and who's to say this wasn't something your wife had cooked up just so she could ride with you? Often people don't do well when instructed by a family member and learning to drive or learning to ride is one such occasion. I do not go out with my kids or now grandkids to teach them to drive. Rather, we go through the controls and such as they have all learned on a stick and will continue to do so. I cut them loose in this huge parking lot with very few obstacles and they learn without fear of me saying a dang word. They stop every once in a while and we simply talk. Frankly, this wouldn't bother me at all if the bike were not harmed and my wife actually followed through with her riding. I actually trust my wife.

I have been thinking of posting this to get a better idea of how to handle a situation that has given me some problems lately. Over the past season I have thought I noticed some extra mileage piling up on my bike. I called my dealer and they told me to bring it in and they would check the odometer to see if it was correct. I did and they verified it was correctly calibrated. Well this went on and on for a couple of months to my dismay. So I made a log of the mileage each time I came back from a ride and low and behold...there was about 100 extra miles each time I started the bike again. 
Another visit to the service department confirmed that there is no way the ignition would cause the odometer to jump up in miles and there was nothing wrong with my bike. But, each time I turned on the ignition....another 100 miles showed up. This puzzling event went on and on until one afternoon I stopped home at lunchtime to get somepaperwork I had forgotten and to my amazement....my bike is NOT in the garage and BOTH helmets are gone as well...
I was about to call 911 when my wife and this guy (named "Mike") come riding up the driveway ON MY BIKE! I can tell you right now that they were sure surprised to see me standing there. I must admit I was a bit upset as well because my wife doesn't ride and in fact she is terrified to ride on the back of the bike. Well, she explained that Mike is a friend who has been helping her overcome her fear of riding so she could spend time riding 2 up with me and that she didn't want to tell me about it until she was completely over her fear of riding. Turns out Mike has his MC endorsement and many years experience riding Harley's so I felt a little better about the safety factor and all. Mike seemed a bit nervous and told me he thought my wife was "ready to ride" and he didn't need to help her anymore and had to get back to work and left right away.
My question is this: Do you think Mike should have at least offered to wash the bike or chipped in for gas?

i would file for divorce you cant belive this right come on dude. i would have kicked his f#ck *** another man riding your bike with your wife... two things are a no no. 1 nobody else touches or rides my bike and 2 not with my wife.
