It all depends on the group, the one closest to me have afew that carry a attitude I can live without so I didnt join that chapter even tho Ive ridin with some of them for over 20 yrs on small runs..So Iam just a LIFER without a cause hahaha.......Hate it when someone buys a bike and think they are Holly'r then thou......
Is joining a local HOG chapter in general a good thing if you like organized rides?
Depends on the chapter, the rides, and you.
An organized ride to the far end of town, with a bunch of people that can't get along, for nothing much more than a lousy burger sucks, but a nice 200+ miler for some scenery, good fellowship, and a juicy steak is pretty nice.
Yup, it depends on the chapter. Ours (Pacific Coast) is really pretty good in keeping politics out and keep the riding in. Overall a really good group.
Yes, I do mean as opposed to unorganized rides and I am sure you knew by organized I meant rides with specific destinations, agendas, etc. Thanks for the other replies, I think I will join and try it out.

No offense intended.....even my unorganized rides usually entail a written agenda, meeting minutes, and treasurer's report!
