That's exactly what my buddy told me. I rode his Fatboy with a windshield and hated it. The distorted view was way more than I could stand.

When I was test riding some bikes before I bought my Heritage, just doing 45 mph without a shield felt like constant pressure of wind on my chest pushing me back. No thanks.

Only put the wimpshield on when it gets colder than 35-40 and for long highway trips. Other than that it's off. In my younger days, I never had a shield.

I love my windshield and I am far to lazy to take anything on and off my bike on a regular basis.

I rode without a windshield for the first couple of months on my fist Harley, way back when. I'll never do it again, unless just around town at slow speeds.

yup. IMHO as soon as you put a windshield on it - it isn't a motorcycle anymore...... it's just a wobbly convertible (that should get the conversation started LOL)

This has been my third year of riding and I finally got a 14" Windvest and really am happy I did. It stops most of the bugs and really helps keep most of the wind off my chest. I had no idea how much I can relax in the seat and loosen my grip on the bars till I was riding for a month and it came to me how much nicer it is to ride out on the country highways for a few hours. Oh and I had Mean City Cycles work on my seat and that helped tremendously. No more sore or tired rear end now.

The original poster didn't give us an option for sometimes on, sometimes off, so I didn't vote. If I'm taking short 200-300 miles trips, I probably won't bother, but if I know I'm going 1000, maybe 1500 miles....yeah, I'll put the the big one on. If its warm out but there a good chance I'll get caught in the rain more than 100 miles from home, I might put my smaller one on. In the summer months I almost never use it. So my answer is sometimes yes, sometimes no.

My first bike ( 78 Lowrider) I got used came with a windshield. I took it off for awhile but put it back on in a week. My Bagger has had one for 23 years. I like a low one that I actually look over. A 9" high works for me. The chit that has hit the faring and shield is unreal.
