I have an HD quick-disconnect windshield, and I use it sometimes. Basically, if I'm going to be on the highway for more than 60 or 80 miles or so, I might put it on. I really don't like windshields as a general rule, and love the feeling of the wind in my face. But for highway riding, it can be a real boost. I can ride longer and enjoy the ride more with the shield on the highway. It's the difference between being relaxed at 75 mph and looking around and enjoying the scenery, or being buffetted every which a way and banged all to hell by the wind.
Still, my preference is no shield. I like the wind in my face (up to a point)
Picked one up this summer. Jury is still out. For the most part, I hate it. Never had one.
Tomorrow AM is supposed to be about 38 degrees. It goes on. Ask me tomorrow afternoon how it is.

The original poster didn't give us an option for sometimes on, sometimes off, so I didn't vote. If I'm taking short 200-300 miles trips, I probably won't bother, but if I know I'm going 1000, maybe 1500 miles....yeah, I'll put the the big one on. If its warm out but there a good chance I'll get caught in the rain more than 100 miles from home, I might put my smaller one on. In the summer months I almost never use it. So my answer is sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Yep. Me too.
I have both a detachable windshield and a detachable fairing. I have left in 10 degree weather to travel to Florida. I'm may be insane... but only with a fairing or windshield.
Around town, I just love my bike stripped down..

Took mine off once but the noise from the wind irritated me- not why I go riding! I will throw in some ear plugs and go again, I did like being in the open air. For now, I always go it on.
yup. IMHO as soon as you put a windshield on it - it isn't a motorcycle anymore...... it's just a wobbly convertible (that should get the conversation started LOL)
