If a jury decides he is guilty then all that is needed is a tall tree and a short rope. To hell with jail, if police are held to a higher standard then he should be put to death.
Does anyone really believe that the charges will stick? You cant tell me that every other cop forgot where the blood test was to be taken. Once again, those that enforce the law dont seem to be able to abide by the laws they enforce

I agree. His buddies that took him to the "wrong place" on "accident" should be F-ing fired also!
Why isn't the commission of a felony by a LEO a charge? Seems to me that those who uphold the law (judges, cops) should be held to a higher standard, and get a stiffer punishment for breaking those laws.
Police, lawyers even doctors ARE held to a higher standard than the avg joe. The law will only allow so much punishment for a particular crime.. For every law written there are upper and lower limits of punishment. If the judge in this case does his job, the officer will get the max allowable sentence for each indictment there is.
I am retired LEO, I will not pass judgment without seeing all the facts in the case .He is and American citizen and is entitled to a trial.
His fellow officers were very wrong in even handling this issue, should have been turned over to an outside agency from the very start. In my state this case would have gone directly to the State Police as they are top dog law enforcement. Then the attorney general would have been involved.
IF this man is guilty, he has embarrassed his brothers and sisters who risked their lives every day. IF he is guilty, I hope they throw the book at him and at the same time throw the key to his cell away. Very sad situation.
It's all on big pile of poo. I agree with Gypsy, he'll walk. They are all corrupt. The only difference is at what level they are. Nothing's gonna happen to him.
I bet he loses his job, and certification, but I doubt he does any time. Probably probation, some 'social rehabilitation' program, then done. The fact that it wasn't the first time he was caught drinking on duty and still a cop is amazing to me. I am sure that if I went to work drunk or even heavily hung-over and smelled like booze, that would be my last day. Whatever happens, I hope he wakes up everyday and sees the faces of those that he has hurt. But then, that would probably be an excuse for him to drink more and repeat the cycle. Society has forgotten what prison is for. It's to keep those that have unjustifiably hurt or killed another person from ever doing it again. To keep general society safer. But then, what do I know?
They knew exactly what they where doing by taking him to the wrong place. I know not all law of enforcement is crooked, but I do know that the majority of them that are in my neck of the woods are as crooked as a dogs hind leg and thats just the sad facts.

If anyone who helped try to cover this up keeps their job justice will not have been done. Those involved should be fired and never be allowed to work at any public job again.
I read about this when it happened and but I am glad the new DA stepped up and reinstated the alcohol charges. I still believe he will not serve a day in jail even though that is where he should be for a long time.
