Folk aren't hanging out at the dealership here unless the weather won't allow you to ride. You might find some folks BS'n on snowy days dreamin about what they want to do to their bike. Free hot coffee is always on and all they offer.
I was in Dallas a couple of years, on a Saturday. They were having a cookout with alive band free food and 2 free beers, all the soda or water you wanted. They do it most Saturdays. Lots of people there hanging out. I stopped in had a beer and free burger, and met some cool people. If you were there for the cookout, you got a discount on anything you purchased.
There were people all over their store buying stuff.
I rode away wondering why my local dealer does not do more events like they did.
I see people hangin' out at dealers. Some do it to get away from the old lady at home. I only get to ride on weekends....no time to hang around shootin' the breeze.
From: 12 year, Colombia, 4 years Mexico, currently In Kuwait, but Boston is HOME!!

I would like to go to these events as well, at Boston Harley I have herd that they have something simular. I was just thinking about when nothing is happening, why go there to hang out? From what I have been reading seems like dealerships are setting themselves up so people will hang out there, offering coffee and pool tables and such. I just never new it was like that.
The dealer that is close to me is an absolute jerk. All I will say is it is in west bridgewater mass. Not friendly, nothing to do there, no free coffee or soda and the people that work there act like they are doing you a favor. I bought my bike at Boston HD and they seemed really genuine. THey had some type of thursday night thing, but I had to leave the US for work reasons.
I'm not against hanging at one, I just never knew there was anything to do there other than buy stuff.
Again, if they had stuff going on and rides planned that is different story, just never knew them to be that way.
Yeah the one my step dad goes to let's him go back and watch bikes get built. He always ends up being there a couple hours talking shop with employees and friends.
i hang out at my dealership all the time. check out the girls, drink coffee and BS. i enjoy it. i could care a less if someone else doesn't like it. i dont answer to anyone. my .02 cents
Uh...you just did.

"I live outside of the US and maybe things have changed over the last ten years, but last I checked there was no one hanging around the Dodge dealership just loafing. What is the deal here? Is this really what people do now hang out at a dealerhip. Seems boring to me."
If you hadn't noticed, there are Motorcycles at the Harley Dealership. Last I checked there were no bikes at the Dodge dealership.
I stop in at several HD shops. You never know what might be going on unless you stop. I may browse or BS, generally I'm gone within an hour. I'd rather ride than BS,
But how is that any different than any other spot you might frequent. I see guys all the time at WAWA or Funkin Gonuts.
