FYI for all you new riders - tossing a "biker wave" with fingerless gloves is significant insult to the BFP. The trifecta is Tossing a "biker wave", with fingerless gloves, while smiling.
The BFP really looks down upon a "smile" while riding because it does not maintain "hard core" biker image.
If the BFP don't get ya, the poser police will.

Fingerless gloves are good for clearly communicating the "one-finger wave", so there is absolutely no misunderstanding of it's meaning.

Not for me, I don't text, but dialing out is a real bitch.

After years of riding with no glove and numerous trips to the doctor to have spots on the backs of my hands and arms checked, he flat out told me that I'd better start covering up or quit riding. Fingerless gloves, long sleeve shirts, and plenty of sun screen for me.

I wear fingerless gloves to **** off the "biker fashion police" - they patrol this site pretty heavily.

Yeah, I'm also an old guy and could care less what people think about anything. I do wear those in the dead of summer. It gets really hot and humid here in Missouri in July. i bought them at a local leather supply store for $18 and they come with built in gel packs.

I find fingerless gloves practical. Prevents blisters on a long ride. Plus, it helps reduce a few vibes from the bars. I defer to my M/C acquaintance who wears fingerless gloves and a DOT 1/2 helmet even though there's no helmet law in Florida. I've never seen anyone question his fashion sense...
