I own and wear both. Ever ride in the cold? When it's real cold I wear carhardt bibs. But just like rain gear, or leather riding pants good luck if you need your keys or wallet or anything else.
This is tired, be who you want, wear what you want.
Good point. Perforated leather gloves (leather covered with high density, small .5mm micro holes for breath ability) are actually cooler than fingerless gloves cause they provide air flow to your entire hand plus they actually help protect your hands and fingers, but no you can't pick you noise with them, stick your finger in your ear or scratch your ***** with them on.
If you do decide to pick the nose, make sure the road ahead is smooth. If you don't have the booger rag hangin off the bars just smear it on the windshield or handle bars or pants. Only you will know because a smeared bug looks like snot anyways.
I don't like wearing full gloves...even mesh full gloves in warm weather...and I don't like the thought of wearing no gloves on my hands sliding across the pavement in a 'git-off' (hope I have the presence of mind to mostly contact the pavement with my protected heel of my hands).
The fingerless gloves, as others have said, provide excellent booger flicking capability....and they let me operate my bike stereo or I pod.
I think I got those folks figured out. The ones who scream "gay poser" whenever they hear mention of fingerless gloves are in fact insecure and timid people. They avoid anything that may attract attention to them. They don't want to get their *** kicked for impersonating a "bad *** biker". So they must flame people who wear them to justify their paranoia.
I may be wrong but I think that's it.

I thought you were supposed to flick 'em on a passing cage?
