Doubt they'll go broke but big downturns are happening all the facts are there , the moco is in the middle of a huge restructuring . Look at the way they cut off internet sales out side the US , lots of dealers dropping net sales , the shear number of dealers closing and some of them big retail names been around a long time , the India & China fuc you to the buying public and the list goes on . The bloated monster as it now has been dying slowly , what it turns into remains to be seen .

who really gives a crap if they go bust or not?.
most folk on here already own a harley.
theres plenty of used ones out there.
its not like the parts will dry up any time soon either.
theres plenty of independents making stuff for harleys.
look at lambretta scooters. went belly up in the early 70's, but you can get anything for them now. theres plenty on the road still, in europe.
personaly, i dont buy jack from the moco, except service items.
i get the bike serviced by a local well established independent.
Up 96% from a bad quarter, that does not mean all is all.
I went to the Motorcycle Expo today though and it was packed and crowded. It seems like things are better than they were a year or two, or three, ago.
The main point is that HD is making a profit when last year they were losing money. They trimmed the fat by closing some under-performing stores, changed there marketing strategy and significantly increased sales in overseas markets.

(Reuters) - Harley-Davidson Inc (HOG.N) reported a better-than-expected fourth-quarter profit on a 12 percent rise in product sales, citing success in boosting sales of its motorcycles beyond its core market of baby boomers.
Net income was $105.7 million, or 46 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $46.8 million, or 20 cents per share, a year ago, a result that reflected heavy restructuring charges. Profit from continuing operations was 24 cents per share, 1 cent above analysts' average forecast, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
