Y'all continue working out what is what. Let me in on what it is you figure out, so that I can still not give a ****. We, KR, Doc, and I, just finished Poser Run#4. 13 days of riding around the countryside meeting folks and having a good time. Saw14 states on my part of the tour, too. And, killed about a zillion bugs along the way. Some might consider me a RUB, some might consider me white trash. My bike is plain and mostly stock. I got the oil changed at a dealer in Florida. Most likely I am not impressed by you, and you are not impressed by me. I'll either like as a person, or not, with no qualifiers on how much you make, what you do, what you ride, or how much you wrench. Admittedly, though, I do like to make fun of people from all walks of life, but especially those who have possessions.

Does it make me a RUB if I retired from the Regional Utility Board?

14 states on the poser run #4 eh. That's awesome.

I'm not sure that I'll be doing my run this summer or not. I was planning 9 provinces and a dozen or states. Vacation time is the problem though. I only get a month, I've used a week skiing, and will use another week for my nieces wedding in Boston. Two weeks isn't enough for a cross Canada trip. So mee and the OL are thinking maybe next year. But never know. I can be spontaneous, just might do it after all.

I work 28 days on then 14 off, so I can't put 10,000 miles a year on my bike. I didn't pay 15,000 dollars for it either. I can hold my own working on it. I just bought my first leather HD jacket in Feb. I'm not a hog member. I have owned a motorcycle most of my life. I make a good living.
I come on this forum to get my motorcycle fix when I can't ride.
Am I a real biker? I don't think so. Am I a RUB? Don't think so on that either. I'm just a old fart that likes to ride when I can. If we meet on the road I'll buy you a beer and we can talk about motorcycles if you want or not makes no difference to me.

I hate labels. Got a few already. One of them is disabled veteran. I guess I have a new one now--RUB--cause I bought new, not a box of pieces parts to take home and spend my time putting them together, getting greasy and build myself a real motorcycle. I sure as hell ain't rich. Single parent, another label, living on a VA disability pension. I took care of my bills so I've got good credit and went out and bought myself a brand spanking new Harley. Paid more than $15k for it so I guess I'm irresponsible. Got the extended warranty too. Not that I hate wrenching just isn't the easiest thing to do when you have issues like mine plus I just don't want to do it! I have other things I prefer spending my time doing. If it makes someone else happy congrats. I hope they get to wrench their *** off. Does it make me less of a man because I don't? Less of a "biker"? More of a RUB? I got a free shirt with the bike and I bought a pair of HD boots. Damn, now I'm a poser. Who gives a rat's *** what kind of label people want to put on me because I don't live by their standards. I rode growing up but had to get rid of it when the ex started spitting out kids and I had two stripes on my sleeve and no car. That's called being poor. Crud, another label. Been waiting a long time for this motorcycle. Looked at a lot of HD on google, perused a lot of magazines and pissed off a HD salesman or two every time I said not yet. I turned 40 several years ago and for reasons unknown the body went south on me and so did the ex. There's another label--divorcee. Left me to raise the kids. I didn't bitch. I shut my life off for seven years so my kids could have one parent who they knew would be home when they got there. Hot meals, clean clothes. Single parenting is a freaking job. My last kid graduated high school two weeks ago and is off to college. He gets paid to go too. Benefit of my disable vet label. Any benefits of being a RUB?

Am I a biker? A RUB? Who the hell cares what label people want to put on you or me? Went on my first poker run yesterday, sponsored by a local MC. Patches and everything oh my. Does that make me a biker? I did my first ride with the Patriot Guard folks last week, what kind of label do I get with that? Patriotic? I've spent 90% of my riding time by myself, that makes me a what? A loaner?

So, to sum it all up I am a disabled veteran RUB single parent irresponsible poser poor divorcee patriotic loaner wanna be biker. That's a whole lotta nonsense.

Feel free to call me anything you want. The respect people show me is the same respect I'll show them.
