Especially the Waffen State Patrol...

Their favorite tactic on the freeway is to run up on you at night and follow close so you'll get pissed off and veer to the next lane without signaling and then pull you..

"Illegal lane change"
"Exhibition of speed"
"Aggressive riding/driving"

Now days it's the sport bike riders that seem to be causing the most trouble around here. They do know how to draw attention to themselves.

Why would you expect to get pulled over? 99% of the time when I have been pulled over I knew exactly what it was for even if I wasn't breaking that law. Headlight, taillight or brake light not working are the only times I have been pulled over and not been sure why. Those are the only times I have thanked a cop for pulling me over since it was a verbal warning. I got pulled over leaving a bar one night. I had no doubt of why he pulled me over. He told me it was because I wobbled. I told him the wobble was from me getting my nuts readjusted in the saddle. To finish the story. We finally got around to the drinking question. I surprised him when I told him I drink only cola or water. He asked me why I bother to go to the bar? I answered ---women and music. I told him I like both of them loud. I knew why he pulled me over. He was fishing and I wasn't. He laughed--I went on my way. By the way. All you drinkers. It isn't that hard to spot even when your not intoxicated. That includes the vodka's and gin's.

Youd think that would be a good thing.

First ride on a open farm rode, my friend and I pulled out from a stop sign and qui joy reached the speed limit. At that time a deputy sheriff approached us from the opposite direction and flashed his lights. We stopped but he continued to drive. He assumed that we were speeding, we figured he was just being a jerk!

Only once did an officer follow me but he was already rolling and pulled off after probablly running my plate. I'm in full jeans and a half helmet but short hair with a goatee but not a long one. I would think the leo's would think they hit the jackpot with a guy on a bike with louder but not real loud pipes going by at 3am after the bars closed?
I guess it sounds like you are complaining about not being hassled. I'd thank my lucky stars and keep rolling. Don't care if they are sleeping, like Harley's, just got a BJ, or even presently receiving a BJ. Whatever the reason I don't care.

That being said, I seem to get lucky more on my bike than in my cage. Someone on here said in my area they are warned about pulling over bikes. Guess a bike ran and people died so now they are not supposed to pull over bikes. Don't know if it is true or not but I've deserved to get pulled over a few times and haven't.

It's because most of them couldn't care less if you're a motorcyclist or a biker. Most of them are looking for actual crimes, preferrably serious ones.

Hell, I pass them on the highway going 10 over while everyone else is piling up behind them, afraid to pass, and I have yet to be pulled over for it.
