I'm only 64,and one of my favorite guys to ride with is 79. I normally ride like the law's after me,but old Carl just cruises along, and refuses to keep up with my normal pace. Makes me slow down, and I find I like the easy pace better, much more relaxing, and the conversations are memorable. Never too old to learn.
I have been accused of being an old fart but not an old biker.....what were we talking about? I would share a story with you but I forgot where I put it.
When I was a young stupid teenager, an old man told me "that the Good Lord gave us all two ears and one mouth so we should listed twice as much as we talk." Just imagine how much better off we would all be if we adhered to this advise.......
I passed this valuable insight along to my GF, but for some reason she didn't get it......I jsut don't understand.
When i was a kid my Dad had a couple of old friends that had been around since the dead sea was sick. One flew P51 Mustangs in WWII and the other was captured on the Phillipines and spent time in a Japanese POW camp. What an interesting couple of gents. I always liked history so I would sit on the floor enthralled while they drank beer in the garage and talked of their younger days.
My old man didn't like ?'s, He would always say boy you learn from looking not asking stupid ?'s. made me pay attention and learned alot.
Fast forward to present I used his line on my grandson, he went over to a chair in the corner of the shop and pulled out his gameboy. quess the old timers don't know anything anymore. sad
