Went by Killer Creek today and got the recall handled - Rear brake light switch replaced. I asked if the new switch looked different and they said not that they can tell. Hopefully they beefed up the contacts inside. While I was there, two guys were in front of me waiting and three came in after me. If you want this done, I would call and get an appointment asap. Busy place today!

You sure didn't LOOK like you were on the bike when I saw you there, Ben! Musta been earlier you got that done...
Everyone riding an '09 or later Touring bike MUST get this done ASAP!
Same here. I'm just glad my bike doesn't have stone wheels.
HAR! Yeah, at least we don't need to worry about this one for Bigger Badder Bertha! The original brake switch, and most other running gear, is still on that 17-year-old bike...

Second trip to KC today. Won the silent auction for a battery tender and was also looking at glove liners. Of course I didn't know I had the tender until I got home after spending the afternoon there.

I ordered some glove liners yesterday, curious to see how they perform! Battery tender is a wonderful thing to have if the bike is going to sit some this winter. I will be purchasing one soon. I used to have a few laying around the garage from my jet ski racing days, musta tossed them like a fool!
Yup, this affects me. Haven't received a recall notice though. I was reading about this recall on another thread (Florida Crew section) where they have pasted the contents of the press release.
Did you receive a notice from the MoCo Ben? Did they have to bleed your rear brake? If they JUST have to replace the switch then I'm good with letting a dealer do that. If they mess with the brake fluid (also) then I have to re-think where I'm going for the service.

The new switch looks slightly different. Instead of just six flat sides where one would put a wrench to tighten/loosen, the new one has the edges beveled between flats.
