No clue. I am waiting for something to present itself.
I see al lot of issues being presented on the board but it would be nic e to have one area to post them to.

It would definitely streamline things. Instead of having to look in Off, General, and even many model-specifics for a lot of the related announcements/topics. Anyone contact DynaMike?
Well, another annual Legislative Day event has passed. If you have the opportunity in your state for something similar, do it in a heartbeat. So much valuable face time, many sit down chats with legislators that can make differences, and then the cocktails. I had a Senator and 2 Representatives constantly feeding me **** Creeks that the 3 hour drive home was no longer an option. An open bed in one of the rooms reserved took care of that. The senator I referred to in an earlier post gave me his cel phone# so we could go riding now that he got rid of his nagging wife and has a new Road King ordered! The chapters further north from me didn't send any members, so I took care of their districts and managed to build a bridge with a former staunch enemy. Time well spent!
Nice work! I recently sent an idea to my state Rep & Sen about harsher penalties for motorists who hit motorcycles - if the motorist was at fault and was found to be using an electronic device (phone, texting, ipod, whatever) that the penalties be equal to that of a DUI. I actually asked him to hold off until we get a state budget!
Pat, Ray Heck did a great job covering your area. You might want to touch base with him. One revision I would recommend to increase the appeal is to include bicyclists and pedestrians, the last thing we want is anything specific to just motorcycles. It opens Pandora's box on sound and licensing issues, we just fought off a proposal REQUIRING a purchaser to have an M endorsement. Many bikes and scooters are bought by someone for someone else.
Why? This forum as a whole likes to talk the talk, but not walk the walk.
If you are going to start, then become an active member of your states ABATE. Not just a member, I said active member.
So far here in SC we have remained lidless for riders over 21. We have reduced property taxes on motorcycles. Actively seeking a red light law and legislation concerning when a bike is hit.
Active is a term I agree with and do whatever I can to be that way. Once in a while, it's great to throw a few back with members of government instead of the same ol people with the same ol gripes at the local. St. Patties is right around the corner, who here is riding one of their local parades? Most politicians participate in such parades, getting to know them before the parade starts is valuable. Barack Obama came up to me one year when I was working the crowd asking me where the ABATE float was. He wasn't even the frontrunner in his party's nomination for senator yet. You just never know.
