Just picked up another Fugly....2013 Road Glide Ultra.... What an amazing ride!!!...night and day from my 07.....but the heat on my right leg is killing me and its only 70 degrees here in North East....was wondering if I could avoid the complete Stage 1 and just add some Vance & Hines OR Rinehart Slip-ons to cool it down abit and add some noise to the pipes?????
The alternative is Rinehart True Duals / Arlen Ness Big Sucker / Vance Fuel Pak LCD....but thats a $1600.00 package......Thoughts?????
Right side heat most always cured by cat removal. Cost about $125 for a replacement pipe.
Plug in a set of Vied's to make the engine run even cooler, and provide additional throttle response.
Bonus is that your stock pipes will sound a bit louder and deeper. Often the perfect package, and great bang for the buck.
You can just de-cat the header without doing anything else and it will feel noticeably cooler and it'll run fine. You don't have to do anything else but if you choose you can change slip-ons, intake, add a tuner, Xieds, Vieds, whatever at some later point and it will run a little cooler but not as big a difference as loosing the cat.
