Piggyback Shocks
Are there any clearance or other issues that would prevent running a piggyback style shock like the Ohlins S36PR1C1LB? This one a twin clicker, height adjustable with hydraulic a preload adjuster. I see there is a Dyna application but why not on touring models?
They won't fit with hard bags, however we have a man who can supply similar shocks that will fit! Howard at HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal builds similar Ohlins shocks with remote reservoirs, using a flexible hose connector that will work.
Do you know where or what the issue is? Unless its a case of the reservoir not clearing the bags due to the cutout (or lack thereof) it looks like there would be plenty of room (fore/aft) if the reservoir was behind the shock body.........at least on a 14+ model.
I haven't got a '14 or later, so can't comment, but on earlier models the piggy back part fouls the bag. Talk to Howard as he will explain all you could possibly want to know! He has built his remote reservoir Ohlins expressly for baggers. He offers discounts to HDF members........
