Default Changing gearing

Floating an idea. Was planning 30 tooth front pulley swap on my '10 roadking and other day i remembered my old 07 nightrod had ids rear pulley like my bike.
Difference was it was 72 teeth where my bike has 68. Now thats about the same as changing front to 30 tooth.
I have 1" belt, vrod had 28mm (very close).
Trying to figure out how close dimmensions really are without shelling out $$$.
Would sure be easier than breaking loose tranny nut
Lets hear the feedback...

This might give you an idea. You'll have to know how many teeth on your belt, might have to count them.

This calculator from Baker Transmission doesn't do belt size, but you might find the speed and rpm calculation interesting.

Your problem will be with the belt, to increase the rear pulley by 4 teeth you will need a longer belt, probably around 145-146, and I don't think any are available. I checked and the Vrod belt is 151, too long, nice thought though.

Not worried about belt at all. Lots of aftermsrket out there. More concerned with sprocket bowl size, allignment of pulley with drive pulley, bearing size, axle size and so on and so forth.
Would be interesting to do 72 tooth pulley on back as well as 30 tooth front. Would be a wheely machine!

The trikes use 30T front and 70T rear, compared with your 32/68. There is no 72T rear. The trikes use the same 139T 1 1/8" belt used on earlier solo bikes and you will need one of those as well. That change in gearing is hardly going to make your bike a wheely monster, but it should certainly wake it up! You get an increase in rear wheel torque of 10%.

I didn't realise that. They also have a 28T front pulley, but neither pulley looks similar to the big twin parts, at least in the parts book, so I suspect they may not be interchangeable.
