Right there is reason enough why I won't buy one. For the price they are asking, it's easy to get a premium Made in US seat.

For most things I would agree - however, with my back, I'd still buy one if it did what I need a seat to do.

As far as anyone that's used one, if you google Rush STO135 there are a few posts at roadglide.org from 2 years ago that have some reports - there is also one with a vendor that was offering a money back guarantee and at least for a time..........20% off.

Default Cycle Pedic seat owner

As P51Bombay Said it's my back, well in this case it's my girls neck, I trip across a craigslist add for $399 for the first model that looks like a sundowner smooth cover( he will sell it for $340 Phoenix ). I call a shop that had one in the wrong box and got one hell of a deal. This seat is Unbelievable all the road bumps are in the cheeks ,no lower back impact. The longer you ride the better it feels. My girl loves it it had a slight rise toward my backrest and she does not slid forward. The cover seems to be high quality with texture.
The channel in the two seats are truly hard to get use to , but you don't see it or feel it when you are riding.
Rush did poor marketing on this seat and over priced it ,so imho check with local deals who just want to get them off their inventory

Default I tried one.

I rode my bike to Merrillville, IN. at the beginning of this summer and tried one out. While I liked the seat and thought it would work for me I knew the wife would not like it due to the passenger seat being only 14 inches wide. And no she does not have big *** she just does not like small width seats. So I did not buy it. One thing about it you can feel the air coming up under the seat, has a nice cooling effect. The seat was designed by the owner of Rush who broke his tailbone and was looking for a seat to take pressue off the tailbone. Finding none, he designed the Cycle Pedic. If the passenger seat was wider I would have bought the seat. The seat is designed like the saddles of The Horse Soldiers (cavalry) which has a space in the middle. And I think you can still try one out for 10 days and if you don't like it you can send it back.

A seat of this design is fantastic. I can see taking away several problems for both men and women. Most seats as I had read somewhere are not designed for a womans antomy where contact points are and can cause a lot of pain, as well as for men and numbness and the extra benefit of taking weight off the tail bone.

The appearance looks very different and for that reason they probably don't get the consideration they should. If a cover of thin material was to be put over the seat to hid the channel it wouldn't be so out there and people wouldn't be so self conscious about it.

When I did long distance bicycle racing and touring many of the racing the seats have channels in the middle to take the pressure off the nerves between the legs and makes for a much more comfortable ride.

If I had not bought my hammock a few months back, I would have picked this one up in a heart beat. This has got to very comfortable for long rides I would think.

A few people commented about wanting the channel covered. We are offering a clearance sale for the original design with the covered channel at incredible prices. Here is a link to the sale post...
