Ok so I am taking a true duel exhaust off my 2014 streetglide and putting on a thunderheader exhaust. My bike has the SE race Tuner and an SE heavy breather. It may be a couple of days before I can get it Dynoed and my question is will it hurt the bike if I ride it for those couple of days before the tune is done? I know it may blue the pipes some but I am going to get the heatshields anyway in a couple of weeks so if thats the only problem its no big deal.
I would think you will be ok, just don't ride it like you stole it. Take it easy until you can get it tuned for your pipe. That's my redneck guess, someone will chime in with more experience than me and tell me I am full of chit, lol. Good luck dude, stay safe.
I gave the True Duel System to my brother for his RoadGlide. I guess I am just going to swap my pipes out for the Thunderheader tomarrow and ride it for a couple of days untill my tuning appointment. Wifes car blew the engine so she is driving my truck and I am on the scoot. I figure the pipes gonna blue up anyway and I will get the heatshields later this month so oh well.
Caliente had been doing my Dynos in the past but they dont have time for a week so I got Mike Lazano to do it in New Bruanfels. He is sopposed to be really good. After talking to Mr Lazano I was a little frustrated becouse he told me he could probly get me the power gains I was looking for with just a good tune. He didnt seem to think there was that big a differance between the True D system and the two into one. Even if its not totally neccassary I am going to get him to do a tune becouse he builds a custom tune map for the bike rather than using one of HDs "Canned" maps and tweaking it. Mr Lazano has pretty much gaurenteed me that my bike will run much better. And yes my friends my grammer sucks....LOL and the funny part is I work at a law office. If I wasnt a very good trial assistant I would be in trouble. That bieng said I am an excellent trial assistant and I can litterally quote the family code so the attorney I work for hired a paralegal to type out pleadings and all I do is assist in the courtroom and deal directly with opposing council and our clients..lol
