We had the pleasure of riding hwy 1 from San Fran to Morro Bay in late August. We rode from California back to N.C. and saw Napa Valley, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, and Yellowstone but we all pretty much agreed that stretch along Big Sur was the most beautiful. Would like to ride it again some day.

Awesome looking bike! We will be leaving from San Diego, next weekend, and taking the PCH 1 to Sausalito. Thanks for the teaser pics!

Ha! I stopped at the same spot and met these fellows from China who wanted to take a photo next to my bike. One of them was an Elvis impersonator.

Also did the Lost Highway -

Just got back mid-Sept with three other buddies. Did the NC-CA trip and did most of the coast highway from Thousand Oaks to Napa. That was the best scenic ride on our trip. We stayed an extra day in Napa to sober up a bit.

Yeah we met some Indian guys who wanted pictures with our bikes. One guy said "you Americans must be really strong to hold up these big motorcycles".

...As often as I can. And as mentioned, that stretch between Morro Bay and Monterey is one of the most beautiful in the world.

Hunter Liggett is one of the best rides i have ever done. One of the few military bases that you can ride thru. The twisties and the view at the top are awesome! Highly recommend!

That looks like a awesome ride. What is the best time of year to make this ride? Where did you stay the night at? How many miles between SD and Seattle? I don't think it will be too hard to convince the wife.
