Choppy/jerky front brake.
I say again, I have never warped a rotor, and I have been riding street bikes for over 29 years. I've NEVER changed a rotor on any of my 6 Harleys.
Excessive hard braking WILL cause rotors to warp.
I have never ridden with you, so I do not know your habits. I do know that the guys that I HAVE ridden with that had rotor problems were too aggressive on their braking, too hard, and riding them.
There are too many that ride WFO on the throttle, then everything they have on the brakes... In a truck I describe it as they drive with a pedal on the floor, one or the other, fuel or brake.
Don't take it as an insult, not meant to be.
I don't use my rear brakes ever unless about to smack into something. Not sure why others have such issues with rotors but I tend to use my engine to speed up and slow down more than my brakes. For me it is easier to control the bike this way.
I have noticed that several of the guys I ride with weekly prefer to slam on the brakes than let off the throttle. I guess it has to do with how you learned to ride.
While we are on the subject we have got a few sets of the brand new Galfer Wave 11.8" fully floating front rotors. Unfortunately as of now I only have 1 of these rotors left in stock but I am sure I can get more. Galfer makes racing rotors thus will hopefully take care of the warpage issue that many encounter. I had a bunch here and they are all gone but it has only been a week or two thus too soon to tell if this is the solution.
Here are a few pics of the rotors.
If you interested in a set of these I have introductory pricing. Please call or PM for more info.
