It's definitely a warped rotor. Had the same issue, changed to floating rotors and problem was gone.

I concur with 70% coming from the front.

I say again, I have never warped a rotor, and I have been riding street bikes for over 29 years. I've NEVER changed a rotor on any of my 6 Harleys.

Excessive hard braking WILL cause rotors to warp.

I have never ridden with you, so I do not know your habits. I do know that the guys that I HAVE ridden with that had rotor problems were too aggressive on their braking, too hard, and riding them.

There are too many that ride WFO on the throttle, then everything they have on the brakes... In a truck I describe it as they drive with a pedal on the floor, one or the other, fuel or brake.

Don't take it as an insult, not meant to be.

i have noticed a similar issue on my RG, its very slight and isnt causing any jerking or giving me issues of keeping front end straight. mine is more of pulsing like im pumping the handle. i figure its the shitty rotors. i know im not using too much front brake as i rarely use it. i engine brake and rear brake majority of the time and the front is only for quick stops. just how ive always rode. i agree the stock rotors suck. i'll change mine out this winter hopefully

Hmmm. I know this is an issue for many guys but I have nearly 30K on my 2013 and not one warped rotor as of yet. I did put on a 2 piece HogPro rotor at about 10K but the stock rotors were still working fine.

I don't use my rear brakes ever unless about to smack into something. Not sure why others have such issues with rotors but I tend to use my engine to speed up and slow down more than my brakes. For me it is easier to control the bike this way.

I have noticed that several of the guys I ride with weekly prefer to slam on the brakes than let off the throttle. I guess it has to do with how you learned to ride.

While we are on the subject we have got a few sets of the brand new Galfer Wave 11.8" fully floating front rotors. Unfortunately as of now I only have 1 of these rotors left in stock but I am sure I can get more. Galfer makes racing rotors thus will hopefully take care of the warpage issue that many encounter. I had a bunch here and they are all gone but it has only been a week or two thus too soon to tell if this is the solution.

Here are a few pics of the rotors.

If you interested in a set of these I have introductory pricing. Please call or PM for more info.

I had these on my last bike and were great - EBC contour rotors. They are very affordable and either made in England or the US, can't remember.

My 2014 has the same issue. Going to get it fixed under warranty this winter.

Not yet. Usually with a true floating rotor such as this chrome is not available as the added of the thickness of the chrome throws off the rotor but they will have either a polished aluminum of maybe chrome available in the future. No word on when this will be available. I have two of these rotors left in stock with the black center as pictured. Introductory pricing is $225 per rotor on this batch, retail is $325 per rotor.

Yep. Harley makes a floating rotor or you can go with an aftermarket two-piece. With few exceptions, the solid (one piece) rotors are prone to warping - even the aftermarket designs. It has more to do with the design of the rotor than the riding/braking style. Rotors heat up rapidly during mod to hard braking. When they get cooled down rapidly (like riding in wet weather) this causes warping. With the two-piece design, the heat from the outer ring doesn't get transferred to the inner hub - thus less problems with warping.
