Been there done that - But always have had a HD in my garage - And went through 3 different GoldWing and all the Wing Dings anyone could ever want (lol)
Standard???? Try a Road Glide also has a Frame Mounted Fairing like the GW & the Best Wind Handler Mountain Touring Putt HD Makes... Have tried (owned) most of the HD Touring Models (and a few Softails) and found the Road Glide to handle & Ride more like the GW then any other... But Way More Better Gooder!!!
I'm startin ta speek with a suthern axsent!!!!
yall gotta stop, ya hear
lol
Damn y'all...I've a bein livin' here in LA (lower Alabama...Florida panhandle) fer nearly 20 sum yers. It don't take long b'fer yer eatin' greens...drinkin' sweet tea and fixin' ta go ta town...serious...
Didn't someone run a poll not too long ago in regards to the extended warranty and it was like nobody had ever used it? Or used it enough to have had it pay for itself. I dunno, I'm confident in the reliability of the machines that if maintained properly... I'm having doubts my bike will ever suffer some mechanical catastrophie.
Well....my position is that I ENJOY workin' on mah own stuff - but sometimes there either isn't time, or ah jest don't feel like it. Besides, HD parts kin git expensive when ya've tossed a piston or sumthin'. Ah view the warranty lahk an insurance policy - ain't used it in years, but ah ain't gettin' on the road without it! Ta each their own, an' yeah - it sux ta write the check fer it - but sux even worse ta write a check fer an engine while yer on vacation.
brokenfingers - Extended warranty is like Auto\Bike insurance & Medical Coverage (which I'm sure you have) you pay for it and and you hope ya never have to use it BUT it's there just incase.
Have a few friends that have used there extended warranty for engine & trans repairs - $50.00 was a bunch easier to pay out then $3000.00+ for a repair...
I've been paying for Auto\Bike Insurance for 40 years and have never needed to use it...
ahh... now ya'll a talkin...
yeppers.. gotta try out one of the 'NEW' roadglides.
we are going to rent a few of the bikes, give em all a chanch.
been doing alotta thinking about this, still kinda leaning towards the electra glide standard.... well for one thing, radio's are useless to me, .....intercom, just barley gets by, with both bikes, harley and goldwing. why ? cause im deaf, gotta wear these big honkin hearing aids with delco 92000 amp batteries....... SO and i talk alot on trips, but bike has to be somewhat quiet. but not too quiet. love the sound of my cycle shaks. we thinking cruise control, and a nice backrest. and true duals.[rinehearts?] .. trailer hitch, and chrome tennyshoes.
ahhh, heck, just going to rent a few, and see what we want. be a while b4 we can, im stuck up here in iowa, herbicide season, might not be home for a month......
save a few more pennys...lol.
