Well, in about a week's time I will be, anyway. Went to the dealer today and started the paperwork to trade my '06 FXDI for an '07 FLTR in Pacific Blue Pearl. The sales guy found me one at another dealer a few hours away and is trading an Ultra off the floor for it, so I should have it soon.
My last FL was an '04 FLHT, so I'm really looking forward to being on a comfy touring bike again - this time with a stereo and cruise control! I've never had those gadgets on a bike before. [sm=shades.gif]
Hey Gummiente all the motor mount issues got you turned of dynas. I still love my fxdbi but man i gotta say that i am falling for the road king custom. If i wouldnt get beaten so bad on my trade in value i might do the same thing but they sure aint giving much for 06 dynas. I guess any 06 next to an 07 isnt all that desirable. How did you do an your trade in value. I was just checking the dealer where i got mine in vancouver and they have an 06 street bob stock with 8500kms for 11,999. Anyways congrats on the new bike.

I got reamed on the trade-in (around $12,100), but I knew that was going to happen. Been thinking about doing this for a few months now and figured that now was the best time of year to do it, as dealers in this part of the country tend to run out of new stock pretty quick.
It's not just the motor mount issues that caused me to trade. I had to take a long, hard look at my riding style and at what I really wanted in a bike... I love the nimble handling of the FXDI, but the comfort just wasn't there on long rides. I had put hardbags, crashbars and a windshield on and it wasn't until someone (I think it was on this site) called it a "mini-bagger" that I realised what I was doing. I was trying to make a touring rig out of a performance bike. After a demo ride on a Road Glide a couple years ago, I knew that someday I would own one but I figured the price would be out of my reach for a long time. So when I was at the dealer I had him compare the price of an FLHT, FLHR and the FLTR with the accessories I wanted and all three came out to within a few dollars of each other in monthly payments. The FLTR had the best value for the money, what with the stereo, cruise control and fairing so that's the one that made the most sense to me.
