Somebody posted on here that a TC96 is a TC88 with a stroker crank. The TC88 has a 3.75" bore x 4.00" stroke vs. the TC96's 4.38" stroke Then if you put a 95" kit on the TC96 for 3.875" bore you get a 103. If you put a 4" bore on a TC96 you get a 110. why couldn't you build a TC88 to a 110???
You can. The cases have to be bored out, install the crank for the 103 and install the jusgs to make it all 110. The common theme on this board is that, like with all of the stock Harley big bore kits, you can create a more powerful combo with smaller displacement with otherparts.
Big changes and major motor work if doing more than a 95" on a 88" or 103" on a 96" cause these are only changes in piston size, but money can build anything long as you throw enough of it at it.
107 will bolt on. No case splitting/boring.
Thats the direction I'm going.
Hope to be taking it over to Steve at GMR (Prescott, AZ) this late fall for the build.
The 110" is not a bolt on kit. Case boring is required. That is going to be the biggest reason people with 2007 models will stop at 103". The cost will go up tremendously when the cases have to be bored. The 107" is a good option and one people with '07's should consider. I know I am.
The bigger the inch motor the more the life span goes down. Have you looked at big inch piston's? Virtually no skirt to help piston stay square in bore which equals shorter life span. They make power but don't last as long.
