I have a 2011 streetGlide with the stock shortie tinted windshield and the wind is beating me to death and I would like to have a smoked longer windshield but do not want it to look stupid being too tall and I am 6'3 and was wandering if you guys can help me that are in the same height range. Thanks
Check some of the other threads on this topic. I keep mentioning that before you spend money on new shield, next time you experience buffeting, hold your left arm across your chest, parallel to the road. See if that reduces the buffeting. If so, the majority of your problems are from air coming from underneath your fairing or windshield. You can at least have an idea where to start.
Your shield height should be the same as the tip of your nose when in the seated position. Find some way to figure out what height shield will meet this demand. For you, I'm guessing 8-10 inches. Oh, and make sure you get a shield that has the recurve. Clearview has some nice shields.
Tripple tree wind deflector, fork deflectors and fairing deflectors. The combo of those 3 items let me run a stock 4" shield with no buffeting. You will get wind in your face, but the paint shaker wind will be eliminated. I tried many, many windshields in my hunt for buffeting relief, none of them cured it.
Thant being said, add a 10" windsplitter to the deflectors, and your golden. It was THE best out of the 7 different shields I tried.
I have 5 windshields, the best by far is the Klockwerks 8 1/2" flare. Most dealers have a demo rack and Klockwerks has demo stands at most distributors. Try before you buy is a great concept.
