Just found out I am approved for pretty much anything Harley has to offer and wanting any advice you all can throw out for me. I am gonna be looking at the Ultra Classic line and wonder what things I should look for in case I go used. Or do you all recommend me going new and not worry about headaches? Do I get the extended warranty, wether it's used or new? Should I go stage 1 right away or wait? What questions should I ask the salesman? Any and all adice would be GREATLY appreciated. I go there in about an hour from now.
Do not act as excited as you are! Relax, take your time and look and sit on the bikes you are interested in. Make sure if you are financing that you aren't taking up the rear on the finance charges. HD is famous for this. My only recommendation is that if this is your first HD do not get more than you can handle, if not, get what feels right...
Congrats and safe ridiing
It's still fairly cold in some area so do what I did. Get the price down and then say you'll do it if they eat the tax and licensing fees. Also ask for the first service to be thrown in. Worst they can say is no. Also, if you cant get 8-9% on financing through them then look at your bank for a better rate. The dealer I went to actually had a hook up through a credit union that got me in at 9% (recreation vehicles run higher). Good luck and post pics when you get it.
They will probly throw a high interest rate at you even with excellent credit.Compare this rate to others.
The extended warranty is a piece of mind for some buyers.
Be sure to check other dealers for actual costs like set up charges etc-.
Slow down, do your research, save your money, pay cash. I did and saved almost $ 8000.00 in financing charges. Don't buy it unless you've ridden the model before, and always shop around. I found $ 3000.00 difference between local HD dealers. If I did it over again, I would have bought a used model with low mileage. Buy and install your own accessories.
