Ok guys I have been getting a ton of messages about what I did to my gauges. Here is a post to sum up everything about them. Feel free to ask any further questions but this pretty much covers it.
I was unhappy with the look, color and brightness of the stock amber LEDs on my 2014 SGS. They were hard to see during the day and at night. I decided to change them up since that is much much cheaper than new gauges
You need 3.5mm by 2.8mm LEDs. They are very tiny
Here I am testing the gauges before reassembly
Here are some daytime shots.
And now for the night shots
A comparison between stock and modded
All modded
And a poorly shot and edited video showing the difference at night
I wanna do this one but don't wanna be off the bike for more than a day lol.
How long did it take and where did you purchase your LEDS?

It takes a few hours to do from start to finish. They are just normal 3.5x2.8mm SMD LEDs. There are plenty of sources online. I got mine shipped from a place close by because I didn't want to wait days for them to come
do you find with these new brighter lights that your night vision is compromised ??
No because they aren't blinding bright. In fact it helps me at night because I can quickly glance and see the gauges and then get my eyes back on the road. The stock amber took me longer to be able to see clearly. Could just be my eyes.
why is 1 photo dark blue then the next is much brighter?
I took the pics with my iPhone. You need a quality DSLR camera to really capture the true color accuracy. The darker blue color is more true to the color that they are in person. I had to lower the exposure to get the truer color but it also makes them look dull. The brighter blue is more to demonstrate the brightness and it is a little overexposed in the photo. In person they are a nice electric blue color and neon red. Not overly bright but easier to see than stock.
