Dropped by my local HD dealership + they were havin a garage sale of items they took in trade on new bikes. A big Craftsman GT garden tractor caught my eye. I asked if it ran + they chuckled + said, it's $50, no battery, the deck is worth more than that. Right on, so I pushed it up into my trailer + took it home figurin to part it out. Fuel tank smelled like lacquer thinner. Blew it out, fresh gas, + it fired right up. This sucka has a V-Twin 22HP Kohler, 50in deck, and 23in rear tires. It's an absolute monster. And the best thing, the plow off my little Craftsman LT1000 bolted right on it. What a score, I've bought shirts there that cost more than this tractor.

Did you get the Harley 10 year extended warranty for that price? Or at least the tire and rim deal?? Good deal man...Kohler is stout...
I had one of those motors on a power washer, they can take abuse as long as the oil is changed, and use premium gas it will go for a long time. Better than the Briggs.
If you weren't going to use it yup parting out you would have banked well on it.
I'm really happy with it. The 50" 3 blade deck gives a MUCH better cut than the 42" 2 blade on the old tractor. Plus, I live on a VERY steep hill + that Briggs + Stratton splash oiler should have blown up years ago. It was spewin oil from the output shaft seal + I really didn't wanna put any time/money into it. Already sold it for more than the new tractor, chains + wheel weights cost. Almost makes me wanna push snow with it this year...........ALMOST!
