Hello, anyone have a 2014 FLHTK with A Harley Hammock seat and adjustable backrest?
The 2015 catalogue says you can fit a backrest with the Hammock seat but does not specify whether this is a fixed or adjustable backrest.
I currently have an adjustable backrest and would like to incorporate the hammock seat with that. Doable?
If you have the adjustable model with the lever that mounts under the rear of the tank, it doesn't work with the hammock. It can be modified to work if cut/weld the bracket. Here is a good thread in the touring section with pics and measurements.
I have the hammock seat and "adjustable" backrest on my '12 SG. and I was told that both would work on the '14s by the parts guy at my HD. From reading, I think there is a different version of the hammock seat that they sell for the new '14s. something about it sitting a little higher than the older version. But Rust may have tried all this and found out that my guy doesn't know what he is talking about.
I have a hammock with the adjustable backrest. It was on my 09 SG and is now on my 14 Limited. The adj backrest seems to not fit perfectly but it works, no problem as far as I am concerned.
